If you are an advanced player and want to compete against some of the best players around, this is the section you want to be in. This is a FIDE-rated tournament, using FIDE rated rules (more on this later). If you want to compete in International competitions, this is your opportunity to get acclimated and play under FIDE rules. There are two sections, one for ages 4-9 and one for ages 10-13. The winner of the 4-9 Age Level group will receive the Kirshner Cup (in addition to the 1st place trophy) and the winner of the 10-13 Age Level group will receive the Orwig Cup (in addition to the 1st place trophy). |
